A loan of $1,100 helped to buy ingredients to make 'salteñas' [savory pastries filled with beef, pork or chicken mixed in a sweet, slightly spicy or very spicy sauce, and sometimes also containing peas, potatoes and other ingredients].

Sonia's story

Sonia, 52, is single and has been working making and selling ‘salteñas’ [savory pastries filled with beef, pork or chicken mixed in a sweet, slightly spicy or very spicy sauce, and sometimes also containing peas, potatoes and other ingredients] for many years. She has her salteña shop in the Estación Argentina zone.

This loan is the second sequence in our institution. She will use the loan to buy ingredients to make the salteñas and also to buy a larger capacity oven. She faces business challenges like larger demand and uses profits to buy utensils to make her delicious salteñas.

Sonia is a very kind, hardworking woman who has always thought about growing and improving her business because it’s her only source of income. She feels happy and grateful to the institution for the support it’s given her.
