Verious is 35 years old and lives in the town of Bugokho, which is located in Uganda's Mbale region. She is single and has two children, both of whom are in school. For the past 10 years, she has been working hard at her small business, which involves selling clothes. To help expand this business, she is requesting a loan for 3,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. She will use the loan to buy more clothes to resell, and to help generate enough profits to pay her children's school fees. She hopes that in the future she will be able to become a larger clothing supplier, and is currently a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Verious who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
