Sophany, 44, is married and resides with her husband and three children in Takeo Province, Cambodia. She has been involved in breeding pigs for over four years, earning approximately USD 5 per day. Her husband is a rice farmer who earns about USD 8 per day. One of her children is employed as a team leader in a garment factory and earns about USD 6 per day.
Due to difficulty with the family’s transportation, Sophany is requesting a loan of USD 1500 to purchase a motorbike for commuting. This purchase would enable her to use the money saved on her transportation expenses to support the family. In the future, she would like to build a new house and help her children get a Bachelor’s degree.
