A loan of $550 helped to buy cement, sand, stone, iron, etc., for the continued construction of her home.

Aventina Jose's story

Aventina Jose was born in the district of Manjacaze in the province of Gaza in southern Mozambique. She is married and is the mother of four children, all of whom go to school. She studied through the sixth grade and stopped due to her parents' lack of financial resources. She lives in her own home with her family and doesn't support anyone besides them.

She left Manjacaze for Maputo in the district of Boane when she got married. She has had a business selling various products for more than five years. She has an income of 12,000 meticals, which she puts towards her home's expenses. She also saves some in her bank account at the BIM bank.

She has never had a loan with another bank. She became familiar with Hluvuku through a friend who is also a client of the institution. This is her second loan with Hluvuku in the amount of 15,000 meticals, which she will use to buy construction materials for her home (cement, sand, stone, iron, etc.). Her previous loan was for 15,000 meticals, and it was applied to her home.

She promises to make her payments on time. In the future, she wants to finish her home and furnish it, for which she plans on requesting more loans from Hluvuku.
