A loan of $1,500 helped to buy feed for her cattle.

Elena's story

Elena is 37 years old. She is a mother of three children who depend on her financially. They live in the area of Maica Sud - Kenamari. She works in milk production as a first activity and her second activity is making fresh cheese. She has been doing both activities for ten years.

She is the mother of three children, two girls and a boy, all of them young. Their father abandoned them six years ago and they haven't heard anything from him. Elena had to dedicate herself completely to raising her children and get ahead. She delivers milk to La Pil every day, working from 5 in the morning every day. Later she gets her children ready to go to school.

She is asking for the loan to buy soy, since she lost all of her alfalfa during the rainy season. She has to buy soy to feed her cattle so they will have a higher production. Elena is a a responsible person who is dedicated to her work. Her dream is for her children to finish high school and latter go on to college. She was only able to go to primary school and didn't have a good education.
