A loan of $1,500 helped to buy feed for her cattle.

Maria Celendra's story

Señora Maria lives in the Maica Sud district, stop 9 1/5. She is 31 years old and studied only veterinary technology. She has a son who is 5 years old. She is a single mother. She is a dairy farmer. She has 16 dairy cows which have a daily production of 175 liters, which she delivers to another person in the district who makes soft cheeses.

Maria was not able to complete her studies since her stepfather died when she was at the university, and being the oldest, she had to leave school and work with her mother to be able to help her brothers and sisters finish school, since her mother also became sick, and so she began the milk-production work.

Maria is applying for the loan to purchase soy for her cattle because since she became a mother, she has her own house and her own cattle and thus her own income, with which she is raising her son, since his father abandoned him even before he was born. Maria dreams that at some time she can complete her studies and in this way become the veterinarian that she so much wants to be, and she will work twice as hard since she wants her son to also have this career.
