Sabumorgie Group's story

Meet with members of the “Sabumorgie” group from Kabala, a town in northern Sierra Leone. They are all local entrepreneurs who have come to SMT, a partner of Kiva, to apply for a loan of 500,000 Sierra Leonean Leones (SLL) for each. With the help of this loan they will be able to expand their businesses, make more sales and consequently improve their living conditions. Tenneh is the leader of this group. This thirty-five-year-old is married to a businessman and they have six children. Tenneh has been a businesswoman for many years now. She sells planks. With her share of this loan, she will buy planks in large quantity to sell in the capital city, Freetown.
