Mann is a mother of six children. Four of them are staying with the family and do rice farming. Mann and her family live in a wooden house in Thmor Koul district. As a farmer, she does not have sufficient income to support her family so she catches fish to resell for additional income. This is the first loan Mann received from VisionFund. She requested the loan to cultivate her rice paddy. With this loan, she hopes her rice crops will grow in good quality and increase in quantity so she can sell them for a good price so that her family can have enough food and live in better conditions.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
