Chhean, 57, is widowed and resides with her two children in Kampong Chhnang Province, Cambodia. She has been weaving Krama (a versatile, checkered print cloth) for over 20 years, earning approximately USD 10 per day. One of her children is an electrician who earns about USD 5 per day. In order to improve her business, Chhean is requesting a loan of USD 1,000 to purchase threads and cloth for weaving more Krama to sell. With the loan, she will be able to produce more Krama and generate more income to support her family. In the future, she would like to expand her business and help her children get their undergraduate degree. She also plans to build a bathroom to provide hygienic living conditions for her family.
