Zunilda Maria's story

Zunilda lives in the southwest part of town with her spouse. They have 4 children, aged 3 to 14. She has a business in her house where she sells fast food on weekends. She started this business 4 years ago, selling hot dogs and hamburgers with one table and one stove and $300,000 COP. She put them on the terrace of her house to take advantage of the fact that residents pass by there on their way home. Her dream is to have a second floor to separate her family life from the business, setting up her business with all of its infrastructure. This would allow her customers to enjoy a comfortable ambience and her to have optimal production conditions where she could do her activities and buy ingredients. Her small space is becoming a challenge, as well as her insufficient working capital for making needed changes. This is why she is turning to a Kiva loan, the first loan she has taken out with the Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. With it, she will buy construction materials so she can remodel the floor on the terrace where she runs her business. With this investment, she will be able to achieve her goal and her customers will be more satisfied with an elegant area to eat their food.
