A loan of $525 helped to buy basic staple items to stock a grocery store.

Oscar Arnulfo's story

Oscar, 31, is married and has three children who are 3, 9 and 10 years old. He lives in a village in Choloma, Cortes with his family.

Oscar has been working for about 15 years doing tailoring jobs; he makes men’s clothes like pants, suits, shorts, etc. and he also repairs clothes. Occasionally he also works doing welding and car repairs. He started the tailor shop with his own initiative and with his own efforts.

The need to earn sufficient income for his home has led him to start yet another business: a grocery store to sell basic staple items like basic grains, soft-drinks, meat, sugar, salt, etc. that he’s asking ODEF for a 10000 lempira loan for. This is his third loan request.

His wife will help him with the grocery store. The plan is to increase sales and family income.
