A loan of $100 helped to purchase new items such as candies, Milo, shampoo, soaps, etc.

Celia's story

For over five years, Celia, a 56-year-old married mother of five children, has made a living by operating a general store in Paypayan, Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental. She sells a variety of food and home-use products, earning 2,000 PHP a month.

In 2009, Celia joined GDMPC to gain access to financial services to help improve her business and living situation. She is now requesting a loan of 4,000 PHP to purchase new items such as candies, Milo (a chocolate and malt powder which is mixed with hot or cold water and/or milk to produce a beverage), shampoo, soaps, etc. She plans to use the additional revenue generated from the loan as a reserve for future emergencies.
