A loan of $500 helped to buy stock merchandise and also to buy metal sheeting to repair her stand.

Ignacia Del Carmen's story

Ignacia, 48, is from Granada. She’s married and works as a grocery and basic grains merchant. She has 35 years’ experience. She’s the mother of four children who are still in her care.

She started her activity helping her mother sell in the market and then her mother left the business to her. She invested loans from other financial institutions managing to sell everything her customers were requesting. She sells her products in a space set aside in the market. Her husband works as a laborer and contributes toward food.

She’s asking for the loan to buy basic grains like rice, beans, sugar and soft-drinks and also to buy metal sheeting to repair her stand. This loan will help her because she will be able to satisfy customer demand generating more income.

Her future plans are to improve her stand with metal sheets so that she can have better conditions and be able to store her merchandise and not have to keep paying storage fees and be able to buy more products.
