Musaenda Group's story

The Musaenda group has 15 members, each one of whom works so as to give their families a better quality of life. The group is located in the community of Campo Experimental, which is a sugar-cane region, dedicated to growing and harvesting cane, as well as collecting sap from rubber trees.

Doña Maria del Carmen is one of the group's members. She is 66 years old and a widow. She tells us that a little more than four years ago, she decided to start her own business, and she opened a small grocery store in her home, which has been a success, since she always gives her clients good service. Doña Maria says she enjoys her work, as it has allowed her to get ahead and to always be in contact with the people of her community.

She will use the loan to buy rice, beans, sugar, oil, salt, soap, sweets, soft drinks, juices, chiles, tomatoes, onions, and canned goods to restock her business.

She hopes this loan will help her business to keep growing and give her a better quality of life.
