Flores Ometepec Group's story

This group is called Flores Ometepec, the people comprising this group decided to name it after the surname of the person who founded the group.

This story is about Clara as she is this group's representative. She is 57 years old and has been a widow for more than 8 years. She has 3 children, of which only Miguel is in his 4th year of studies in technology at university. Clara has been making and selling piñatas for more than 1 year.

She says that she decided to set up this business because, aside from the fact that this activity returns good profits, she wanted to find a way to support her son with his studies and give him a better quality of life. The loan which she has received will be invested in the purchase of material such as: paper, glue, cardboard, balloons, foil, ceramic pots, plaster, sheets, etc.

The aim which Clara has given herself is to provide her son with an excellent quality of life and she also wants to grow her business much more, so much so that she is thinking of expanding her business to set up a section for sweets and thereby have a larger stock and a greater variety of products to improve and increase her profit margins.

Clara thanks the Fundación Realidad and Kiva for the help which they are giving her, as she will be able to improve her quality of life as well as that of her family, in addition, they now enjoy a more stable financial situation.

The members of the Flores Ometepec group, and the activities they pursue are as follows: Dolores (sweet shop), Clara (sale of piñatas) and Alberto (groceries).

In this group: Dolores, Clara, Alberto
