A loan of $5,000 helped a member to pay for ten crates of drinks (Fanta, Primus, Coca Cola).

Anonymous Group's story

The client is a member of the ESTHER group. She is a dynamic and ambitious widow with an entrepreneur spirit. She sells drinks and other various items (Omo washing powder, crackers, salt, rice etc...). Her children help her with her business, which she started after her husband passed away around the year 2000.

Later on, she learned that the micro-finance institution Hekima was granting micro-loans, and she received her first loan of 50 USD, which helped her strengthen her business. With the profits from her business, she is able to put some money into savings, feed her children and pay for their school fees. She has now received her ninth loan. During that period of time, in spite of the looming financial crisis, she has seen her business thrive. This is why she has decided to request a larger loan amount for this new cycle. This new loan will help her to purchase 10 crates of drinks (Fanta, Primus, Coca Cola).

She would like to see her children grow. She thanks Hekima for its action in favor of the empowerment of poor women excluded from the traditional banking system.
