A loan of $450 helped to buy bean seeds, supplies and fertilizer to use in planting.

Genaro's story

Genaro is 60 years old, married and is from the community of Tomatoyita-Teustepe. He began working in agriculture when he was 12 years old as a laborer, and later at the age of 20 he formed his own family. Through his endeavors he bought his land and his cows which he was able to buy from the earnings of the harvests that he reaped.

His children are married and live independently and are not under his care, and because of this he has to pay farm laborers to help him farm. When the beans and corn are ready he sells his products in Teustepe or in Boaco and then after the harvest he travels to other regions to pick coffee.

Genaro is asking for a loan in order to buy bean seed, supplies and fertilizer to use when planting. This loan will help him grow a seed of basic grains.

He dreams that the harvest will be good in order to have a profit and to repay the loan. Also he hopes to buy a calf to raise and to sell at a good price in search of better income.
