A loan of $1,700 helped to buy a refrigerator and to make physical changes to the locale.

Victor Alfonso's story

The best words to describe Víctor are enterprising and charismatic. He is young man who despite his age has managed to set up his own business aiming at earning his own income and contribute economically to his home.

His mother is a single mother head of household and besides that Víctor has three siblings with Down’s syndrome so he’s the only support for his home. Because income generated by his mother in her job is insufficient to cover all household expenses, Víctor decided to contribute in whatever way possible so he opened a general store where he sells basic staple items, snacks and candy. Víctor has had the store for about a year and a half and it’s been growing rapidly primarily thanks to the good service Víctor gives his customers.

Víctor is looking for a loan that will give him the opportunity to do some physical upgrades to the store to make it bigger and to buy a refrigerator to be able to sell items that need to be refrigerated. In this way, Víctor will increase sales because he’ll have more products and will make his store more attractive to customers too.

In addition, Víctor hopes that with higher income his family will enjoy a better quality of life and greater opportunities to continue making progress.
