A loan of $600 helped to buy manure, fertilizer, urea and tomato and blackberry seeds.

Flor Liduvina's story

Flor Liduvina, 54, is married and has four children. She lives with her husband and children who are 30, 28, 22 and 20 years old in Chillanes, Bolívar Province.

The “Virgen de Baños” communal bank is composed of the Cerritos Mama Sara community. The members spend most of their time farming, growing corn and raising animals.

Flor Liduvina farms corn, blackberries, tomatoes and broad beans. She’s asking for the loan to buy tomato and blackberry seeds, manure, fertilizer and urea. She will make her purchases and her sales weekly in Chillanes. With help from the loan she will be able to grow broad beans, blackberries, tomatoes and corn infestation-free.

The challenge she faces is to overcome economic problems. Her dream is to see her children attain professional status in the future and to improve and increase income. In her free time she likes to watch television and to enjoy the feast of the Immaculate Conception.
