Marième's story

Marième is a 64-year-old woman who has been actively involved in retail business for the past 10 years. She is married and has a family. She buys and sells various products such as palm oil and dyed fabrics. In spite of her age, she also commutes between Senegal and Mauritania to buy soap, milk, jars of mayonnaise (all products that are cheaper in Mauritania). This is actually why she is requesting a loan. In order to diversify her sources of income, Marième also works at a local grain processing plant. She has no extra charges and uses her income to contribute to family expenses. She works to provide better living conditions for her family.
