Alfredo's story

Alfredo, 25, has two school age children; his wife is Gilda. He’s from La Misión, a Yuracaré indigenous town. He came to the city of Cochabamba to go to high school ten years ago. He lives in rented rooms six kilometers from the city. He currently works as a transportation driver driving a vehicle that belongs to someone else. His daily activity starts at 5am and he travels specific routes along peripheral zones and the central market. He wants to improve his living conditions and needs working capital for his wife’s activity which is selling sandals in the central market on market days which are Wednesdays and Saturdays; she also sells seasonal fruit (peaches, avocado and grapes) Tuesdays and Sundays in the north of the city at the entrance to the market in América zone.
