The group's representative, Adéoniran Abdel (raising his hand in the photo) is 34 years old. He is married to a retailer named Ossénantou. The couple has six children in their care, four of whom are their own children. Some of the children attend school. Adéoniran Abdel lives with his wife and children, and takes care of the various household expenses with his wife.

Adéoniran Abdel left school at the primary level and learned the trade of hairdressing. In order to cover his various expenses, he has been working as a hairdresser in his region for almost 15 years. He buys his hair styling products in Nigeria.

In order to expand his business and to become more competitive on the market, he is requesting a third loan from ALIDé, together with the other members of the APCI1 group. Previous loans have been well repaid.

APCI1 est un groupe composé de neuf personnes, et dont les membres appartiennent à un même collectif des artisans d'une commune. Le représentant du groupe, Adéoniran Abdel (dont la main est levée sur la photo), est âgé de 34 ans. Adéoniran Abdel est marié à une marchande du nom de Ossénantou. Le couple a six enfants à leur charge dont quatre sont leurs propres enfants et certains sont scolarisés. Adéoniran Abdel vit ensemble avec sa femme et ses enfants. Le couple assure ensemble les diverses charges de la maison. Adéoniran Abdel a arrêté l'école au niveau primaire et a appris la coiffure. Pour faire face à ses différentes charges, Adéoniran Abdel mène cette activité depuis près de quinze ans dans sa région. Adéoniran Abdel achète ses produits de coiffure au Nigeria. Dans le but d’agrandir son activité pour être plus compétitif sur le marché, Adéoniran Abdel sollicite ensemble avec les autres membres du groupe APCI1, un troisième crédit auprès de ALIDé. Les crédits antérieurs ont été bien remboursés.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late. However, Alidé remains a healthy institution in good standing with its creditors, and Kiva would like to continue working to support its clients.
