A loan of $1,000 helped to buy wheat, eggs, and cheese to expand her snack business, and also, to purchase a cow to sell the milk.

Narciza Del Rocío's story

Narciza is 41 years old and is described as a person who is kind and sincere with people who in reality merit it. Narciza lives with her husband and her son in the town of Julio Andrade, located 15 minutes from San Gabriel in Carchi Province.

Narciza works alone at a street post where she sells 'empanadas,' which are wheat tortillas with cheese inside. This will be her 7th loan through FODEMI, and will be used to purchase wheat, eggs, and cheese, to expand her production of 'empanadas.' Narciza will also use the loan to buy a cow in order to sell milk. This investment will help Narciza increase her income and help pay for her son's studies.

Narciza dreams of constructing her own house and expanding cattle raising.
