A loan of $725 helped to purchase construction supplies in order to build her home (zinc sheets, doors, iron, windows, etc.).

Joana's story

She was born in the municipality of Manhiça, province of Maputo, southern Mozambique. She's married and has a daughter who attends school. She graduated as a teacher and stopped due to lack of time. She lives with her family in a house she owns and also supports her parents by sending money to help with their expenses.
She left Manhica for Boane when she got transferred because of work. She has been a teacher for over 10 years and earns a salary of 7.619mt. She uses it to pay for home expenses and also saves part of it in her bank account.
She has had a loan with BIM for 30.000mt, which she used to purchase consumer goods, and she managed to repay it without difficulties. She first heard of Hluvuku through a friend who is also a client of this institution. This is her 5th loan with Hluvuku. It is for 20.000mt, which she intends to use to purchase construction supplies in order to build her house (zinc sheets, doors, iron, windows, etc). The previous loans were for 6.500mt, 9.200mt, 10.000mt and 25.000mt, for housing expenses.
She pledges to make her repayments as scheduled. In the future she intends to finish building her home, and for that purpose she plans to request other loans from Hluvuku.
