Reina Suyapa's story

Reyna Suyapa, 37, is married and has two children who are 12 and 7 years old who are attending school. She lives in Puerto Cortes.

Reina has had a grocery store for four years that she started with her own means. She sells foodstuffs like basic grains, flour, rice, lard, sugar, snacks, soft-drinks, etc. She tends to her store located in a strategic spot along the main street. Her sales are profitable and to date she’s managed to get ahead with help from her husband and profits from the business where she works all day to continue earning working capital.

This is her first ODEF loan for 10000 lempiras that she will use to better stock her store. She will buy basic grains, snacks, cookies, sweets, soft-drinks, etc. so that her inventory will be larger and she can continue providing extra household income. Her goal is to enlarge the business and to always have it well-stocked.
