Milly's story

Milly is 38 years old and lives in the town of Lugazi in the Mukono region of Uganda. She is married and has 4 children who are all currently in school. For the past 7 years, Milly has been working hard to manage her retail shop, which sells sugar, soap, and other goods.

To help expand her business, Milly has requested a loan of 2,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more stock, which will help Milly to generate greater profits and improve the quality of her life. Milly hopes that in the future she will be become self reliant and live a good life.

Milly is a member of BRAC's Small Enterprise Program (SEP). The program primarily serves small entrepreneurs like Milly who do not have enough collateral for commercial loans, but have businesses that have grown too large for microloans.
