Marlene Mercedes, 33, lives in a common-law relationship. She has three children, ages 5, 1, and 3 months. She lives with her partner and the children in the Rancho Grande precinct of Ventanas Canton.

Bendición de Dios Communal Bank is located in the Rancho Grande precinct of the parish of Puerto Pechiche, 45 minutes from our office. It is made up of 11 members.

Marlene Mercedes works in agriculture. She grows corn and cacao. She is requesting the loan to buy cacao plants, corn seed, fertilizer, urea, insecticide, and liquid insecticide to fight the pests.

She makes her purchases and sales weekly in Ventanas. Her dreams are to increase production and buy a plot of land. The challenges she faces are the pests that occur in the crops, such as locusts and budworms.
