A loan of $1,500 helped to buy sheep.

Luisa's story

Luisa is 52 years old and is a working woman. She has been living with her husband Nicolás for 32 years. Together they have 5 children, all minors, who they look after in their home located in the town of Chilca.

Some years ago Luisa worked in the abattoir in her town, but because of her health she stopped working. She admits that she really misses working and contributing to the household income. It is now her husband goes about working in the abattoir until she gets better. Luisa speaks of how in her spare time, and as a means of therapy, she breeds high-quality animals such as sheep and alpacas. Her style of working is to buy livestock in order to improve the breed and in that way, within 6 months sell the mature animals at a good price.

In the city of Huancavelica, where she sells her animals, she is already known for being amongst those who bring better quality animals. That pleases her a lot, particularly as she has spent many years working in this business. “I feel that it is a true homage to my work and passion for animals”, says Luisa.

She belongs to the “San Fernando” solidarity group, and this is the sixteenth loan with Microfinanzas Prismas. She feels happy as she has found the help that she really needed to meet her objectives. Moreover, she is responsible in all that she does, which is why she promises to make her repayments on time. With your help, Luisa will make the most of the season of low prices for sheep. She is thinking of buying rams to increase her flock.
