A loan of $1,200 helped a member to buy clothing to sell.

Safia Bibi's Group's story

Safia bibi is a 49 year-old married woman with three children: two sons and one daughter. Her sons work in a factory while her daughter stays at home and does decorative embroidery work. She also manages the household work. Safia’s husband works in a factory, which provides a meager income.

Safia herself is also very supportive. Besides managing her household responsibilities, she also financially supports her family by operating a clothing business. She is an expert in her business and has been doing it for more than 10 years. She buys clothes from different places, which she sells to her customers to earn a profit. The profit she earns enables her to pay for utilities.

Safia has requested for a loan from Kiva partner Asasah for her clothing business. With the loan, she will buy clothes of different varieties in larger quantities to resell. She is very confident about expanding her business after a loan investment.
