A loan of $2,975 helped a member to buy stock merchandise for her store.

Munay Soncco Group's story

The member belongs to the “Munay Soncco” communal bank located in Wanchaq District in Cusco Province and Cusco Department

Eduardina, 22, has a spouse and two children. She alternates her daily chores with a grocery store business; she sells various types of products like rice, sugar, milk, snacks and soft-drinks, among others. At the same time she runs a food selling business but only in the morning in one of Cusco’s markets. She tends to her grocery store in the afternoons and it’s her husband who looks after the store in the morning while she’s selling the food her customers request. She is a very dedicated, responsible person who very much wants to get ahead day to day since this is the way she moves her family ahead. She is asking for the loan to buy merchandise for her store like rice, sugar, milk, snacks and soft-drinks, among others.

The other group members are fruit merchants, farm products merchants, provide urban taxi service, bakery and grocery store.

She is grateful for this means of getting credit and commits to make her payments.
