A loan of $1,000 helped to buy a car to use as a taxi.

Edic's story

Eddy is a 64-year-old gentleman who lives with his family in a community called Rincón Grande de Pavas, in San José province, the capital of Costa Rica. This area has a wide range of hotels and offers tourists museums, restaurants, parks, conference centers, modern shopping malls, cinemas, theatres, art galleries and a lot of nightlife.

Some of the main cultural attractions are the National Theatre, which is located in Plaza de la Cultura and was opened in 1897; the Gold Museum; the Museum of Art and Contemporary Design; and the Children's Museum. Some of the famous festivals and celebrations of San José are those held at the beginning and end of each year: the Light Festival in December and the National Exposition of Orchids in March.

Eddy works as a taxi driver but he rents the car he uses. He would now like to buy a car so that he can continue working in the same business but make more income by working with his own taxi.

For this reason, Eddy is requesting a loan for 500,000 colones to buy a car. This will improve his own quality of life and also that of his family.

Eddy is a member of Rincón Grande Community Loan Company Ltd. and this will be his second loan. He is very grateful for the opportunities that he has had to access loans so that he can carry out the projects that he has planned.
