Anis is a 63-year-old Lebanese married man. He lives with his wife and has only one working child. He’s the main income provider for the family and has big responsibilities to care for. He has been working as a vegetables trader since 1980. He has his own van in which he transports his products all over the villages. Today, he’s requesting to borrow a loan from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase the needed quantity of vegetables to be able to carry on his work properly and therefore increase his profits. In the future, he plans to enhance his work and hire someone to work on his behalf.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
