A loan of $1,300 helped a member to purchase fabric, wide ribbons, balloons, etc.

Guarapi Group's story

This communal bank goes by the name of "Guarapi", as this the name of the neighborhood where the members live. The group is in their second lending cycle as part of the Entrepreneurial Women program of Fundacion Paraguaya. They are very hard-working women, and they want to support their families by means of their work.

Blanca is the president of the group, and she tells us that she works doing event decorations. She provides decorations for all kinds of events, such as birthdays, parties and more, and she comments that things are going very well for her as she has a very good customer base.

She is requesting the loan to be able to invest it in her work. She wants to buy fabric, wide ribbons, balloons, etc., as these are the supplies that she uses most in her work.

In this group: Blanca Rosalba, Genara, Ana, Maria, Teodora, Marcelina, Isabel, Patricia, Maria, Sonia
