Victor's story

Víctor is a 64 year old man man living in a community called Osa located in Caña Blanca in Puntarenas Province. This community stands out because it’s a rural zone that gets many visitors due to its beaches. Its main economic activities are tourism, farming and raising livestock.

Víctor raises tilapias, an edible product in the zone where he lives and in other parts of the country. With the tilapia project he can improve his family’s quality of life and expand his market into other zones.

What Víctor needs at the moment is a one million colones micro loan to buy materials to build more tanks to increase tilapia production which will allow him to earn higher income.

Víctor is a member of the Caña Blanca communal bank, one of Edesa’s 150 member organizations in Costa Rica. With this loan he expects to grow more both personally and economically. He also points out that thanks to this type of organization and mean of facilitating credit he will be able to dedicate more time to productive activities.
