A loan of $1,575 helped to buy a motorcycle.

Wilberth's story

Wilberth, 23, is a young man living with his family in a community called Osa located in Caña Blanca in Puntarenas Province. This community stands out because it’s a rural zone that gets many visitors due to its beaches. Its main economic activities are tourism, farming and raising livestock.

This young man works near the community where he lives with his family. However, he wants to earn additional income in order to help them more. Because of this he wants to buy a motorcycle so that he can work weekends making deliveries for stores and to get to work every day.

What Wilberth is asking for at this time is an 800,000 colones micro loan to buy the motorcycle and offer his services as a delivery man to stores; he plans to do this on weekends.

Wilberth is a member of the Caña Blanca communal bank, one of Edesa’s 150 member organizations in Costa Rica. With this loan he expects to grow more both personally and economically. He also points out that thanks to this type of organization and means of extending credit he can spend more time on productive activities.
