Estrella's story

Estrella, 52, is a simple woman who lives with her two children, Wilfredo and Yamileth, who she cares for in their own home in the district of Chilca. She is up against many problems, especially problems with her husband from whom she is divorced. But she continues to work because she must look out for her children. She has been in business 20 years selling meat. She says her work consists of buying a number of pigs that she fattens and slaughters to sell at the regional fairs in the districts. She earns a good profit and also uses her stall to sell beauty products to the customers that know her. Business is doing well, "I sell more meat during the holidays", she states. Not too long ago she started selling pork cracklings at a restaurant that opens on weekends. This is to earn extra money to invest in improvements for her business. She belongs to the communal bank "IDME" anf this is her 25th loan through MFP, where she is counting on you for support to continue toward her goals. She is committed to paying back the loan on time and enjoys belonging to her communal bank because all the members are responsible and caring. Estrella plans to use the loan to buy livestock for her business.
