A loan of $1,125 helped to afford maintenance for her vehicles and buy replacement parts.

Ana's story

Ana is 44 years old and lives in a civil union with Juan, with whom she has 3 children aged 25, 23 and 20. They all live together in the home they own in the village of Yaroca, in the Palca district of the Tarma region in Peru. Ana and her family live of agriculture, and have for 25 years, during which they had bad and good experiences alike. However, since she is an intelligent woman, she knows how to negotiate her products. "I plant potatoes, gladioli, lettuce, peas, spinach and others, depending on the season", she says.
Her sons are her pride, because they always lend a helping hand. Each of them has an activity with which they bring income to the home. One of them is a musician and travels a lot; the other two drive Ana's cars on the roads from Tarma to Palca. With all these efforts coordinated, they have managed to obtain better living conditions. Ana is happy with what she has achieved, but she will not rest: she wants to keep growing. This will be her ninth loan with Microfinanzas Prisma. She says she will pay back her monthly installments punctually, as has always been the case. She belongs to the village bank "Las Truchitas de Yaroca", where she feels comfortable and at ease with a responsible and supportive group. With the loan she is asking for, she will be able to pay for repairs on her cars, which have long gone without the necessary maintenance. The price of replacement car parts is very high.
