Josseline Rosalia's story

Josseline, 20, is the mother of a little one-year-old who she adores with all her heart and who whenever she’s sad makes her laugh by just looking at him. Despite her young age, Josseline tells us that he’s her greatest motivation and the best gift God could have given her. Her house is located in the city of Ica, a city known for its sand dunes which are visited by numberless tourists all year round as well as Huacachina Lagoon; it’s also known as the place where one of the world’s best cotton is grown and for growing asparagus. In her free time Josseline enjoys listening to music alongside her little one. She also likes to eat one of her favorite dishes, the very delicious “Lomo Saltado.” She attended secondary school but would have liked to have studied to become an executive secretary.

Day to day Josseline works in her business selling curtains, sheets, bedspreads, towels and tablecloths. She works about 5 hours a day and can tend to up to 20 customers daily. She believes that she does well in her business because she has God and her little son by her side and he’s her best motivation to get ahead.

Josseline is very grateful to Kiva lenders because thanks to the help they’ve given her she will buy more merchandise at wholesale to improve her income and have a wider variety of goods available to offer customers to continue working day by day to make her greatest dream a reality: “To have a clothing store.”
