A loan of $575 helped to buy sheets, hammocks and comforters.

Luis's story

Luis, 33, is married to Sonia, 27. He is a “macatero” (street vendor). He’s been working for more than five years. In addition to that, he also works Monday to Friday as a service station attendant. His wife’s an artisan; she makes bedspreads that he then sells.

Luis is a very self-sacrificing, hardworking person. He works Monday to Monday to be able to give the best to his family and avoid their suffering privations. Luis started out selling for his cousin for two years and once he bought his motorcycle and with help from his cousin he was able to have his own micro firm.

He requests the loan to buy hammocks, comforters, sheets and others that he sells in an ambulatory fashion. He’s grateful to the Fundación for the opportunity for success it’s giving him.
