Margarita's story

Margarita is a member of the “Santa Cruz de Acari” Communal Bank, in the Yunguyo province of the department of Puno. She’s a 75 year old married mother of children who are now independent. She has no schooling.

Margarita has been working with Movimiento Manuel Ramos for six years. Her 1st loan was for 300 soles, which she invested in her clothing sales business.

Margarita is requesting a new loan for 2,500 soles, which she will use to buy merchandise like, sweaters, llicllas (traditional fabric used to carry babies), shawls, aprons, etc. Her children help her with the business. She sells her merchandise at the local fairs.

Her dream for the future is to continue operating her business and improving her income. What she likes most about the Communal Bank is how easy it is to get a loan.
