A loan of $675 helped to buy farm supplies and fertilizers.

Fátima Teodora's story

In the parish Crucita, canton of Portoviejo, we find a place known as Los Arenales. The members of the communal bank Grupo de Crédito Nueva Generación meet here every fifteen days. This place is renowned for its beautiful beaches, its gastronomy and the friendliness of its inhabitants. Here is where Fátima lives. She is 23 years old, and lives in free union from which she has two children, aged 4 and 3. The oldest start nursery school this year. Her husband makes a living fishing and farming. She is a good wife who, to help her husband, requests loans which she invests in his activities. Some seasons he makes a living in fishing and others in farming. At the moment, making the most of the winter season, he has corn, peanut and some vegetable crops. He works in farming four days a week and sometimes together with others they sail out to sea to carry out their fishing activities. This is how they manage to get ahead, even more so with the help of the loans. This loan is to buy farming supplies and fertilizers in order to obtain a good harvest. This is her third loan cycle with the communal bank and she likes it for the help provided by the loans. Her dream is to give the best to her children.
