A loan of $650 helped to buy a pig to raise and to buy concentrated feed for pigs.

Nuvia Xiomara's story

Nuvia, age 35, is married and has four children, ages 12, 14, 16, and 18. She lives with her family in a village in the Esparta Atlántida municipality.

Nuvia is a very enterprising woman. She has two businesses. One is raising and selling pigs, and the other is a general store. She sells basic needs products like basic grains, soft drinks, churros, cleaning products, and medicine, etc. She established the general store four years ago. She has been raising pigs for three years.

Her great motivation to get income and to work hard with the businesses has been the desire to improve for her children. She wants to do this in order to give them the chance to go to school.

She is requesting a loan for 12,000 lempiras in order to buy a pig to raise and to buy concentrated feed for the pigs. With this investment she hopes to grow in this business of selling pigs. It is very profitable, and it will allow her to increase her income.
