A loan of $500 helped to purchase additional stock of groceries and fruits to sell.

Lucy's story

Lucy is a resident of Malindi, Kenya. She owns a green grocery stall, which has been in operation for the last six years. She began the business by selling farm produce of paw paws and mangoes to her neighbors. She later set up a grocery stall. Lucy is currently unable to meet the demands of her customers and is asking for a loan of 40,000 Kenya shillings to purchase additional stock of groceries and fruits to sell. Her main challenge is seasonal weather, that does not guarantee food production, and the high cost of transported produce. Lucy’s ambition is to continue with the business and she will use the additional income from this loan to purchase tomatoes and onions.
