Jesus Esta Aqui 1 & 2 Group's story

Isabel is the coordinator of her group 'Jesus Esta Aqui' 1 & 2 (Jesus is here). Her group is located in the urban slums surrounding Santo Domingo. She makes her home here in a simple structure with her long-term partner, 3 children and 3 nephews. She says that her most difficult challenges are to raise her children and her nephews and to provides for their needs. In the meantime, she plans to continue enjoying eating and watching television.

Isabel is excited to be taking her 9th loan with Esperanza after having successfully repaid her previous loans and grown her business. She has had her business for over 6, starting with her first loan with which she bought a stove and gas tank to fry food. She plans to use this loan to invest in her businesses to increase her inventory by purchasing goods like flour, meat, plantains, bags of used clothes, and others miscellaneous products like handbags and shoes. She will use the profits to reinvest in her business and to provide for her family, thus helping her partner. She wants to buy a home and have all her family together in a better house.
