Emprendedoras Group's story

The "Emprendedoras" (Enterprising Women) communal bank is made up of six women with initiative. In fact, they decided to call themselves this, because they consider themselves enterprising women, and want to keep their businesses going.

Bernabé is part of the group. She is 49, married, and the mother of three children, ages 33, 30 and 29. Approximately 18 years ago, she dreamed about having her own business in order to help her husband, but she couldn't leave her small children alone to go out selling. Currently she has a small grocery store.

Bernabé dreams of expanding her store so that it will be an established business, and of employing people to run it. This way, she will be able to assure her future and that of her family.
