A loan of $1,200 helped to purchase fertilizers and petroleum and more grocery inventory for her daughter.

Meng's story

Mrs. Meng K., 55, is a mother of ten children. She works growing a variety of vegetables and earns around $4 a day of income. Her husband is a teacher in the village with a salary of $45 a month. Three of her children are married and live away from home. One daughter works in a garment factory and another one sells groceries.

Mrs. Meng K. wants to use a loan from Kiva to purchase fertilizers and petroleum and more grocery inventory for her daughter. (Mrs. Meng K., wearing the black shirt, is pictured with her neighbor and her husband sitting behind.)
