Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $425 helped to buy fabric to sell.

Soukeye's story

Mrs. Soukeye lives in Senegal. She is 59 years old. She is a widow and a mother. For more than 20 years she has been involved in commerce and the sale of clothing. She chose this type of business out of passion. She is most interested in the profits to be made. She is a member of I’U-IMCEC in the town where she has lived since April of 2005. She is requesting a loan of 200,000 frs to build up the stock of fabric that she will sell. She foresees raising her working capital and being able to travel in order to secure her merchandise. Her wish is to increase her profits so that she can better support the other members of her family.
