A loan of $1,225 helped to buy tea seedlings for planting.

Robert's story

Robert is a 28-year-old married man with three children living in Fort Portal, Uganda. He owns a tea plantation, which he started seven years ago. He started as a casual labourer, then he devoted knowledge and capital to start his own plantation. His challenges are price fluctuations, customers not paying on time and seasonal weather. His dreams are to educate his children, build a permanent home, buy a car, diversify the business and hire employees to help him expand his business. Robert intends to buy tea seedlings for planting.
