Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Noudonangnon Group's story

The Noudonangnon group includes three individuals living in the same neighborhood. The group's representative, Gilberte (raising her hand in the photo) is 47 years old. Her husband's name is Alexandre. They have four dependent children, all in school. Gilberte did not attend school. Gilberte lives together with her husband and children and together with her husband provides for various family needs. For about 25 years, Gilbert has been selling corn, charcoal and sugar in her region of Benin. Giberte stocks up at one of Benin's markets. Gilberte and the other members of the Noudonangnon group are seeking their third loan from ALIDe in order to bolster their working capital and their business, and better respond to customer demand. Their prior loans have been properly repaid.
