A loan of $925 helped to purchase goods for selling (oil, peanuts, rice, flour, etc.).

Emilia's story

She was born in the district of Boane, province of Maputo, southern Mozambique. She's married and has three adult children. She completed 6th grade and stopped because her parents lacked financial conditions. She lives with her family in a house she owns and also supports two grandchildren who live with her.
She has been a businesswoman for over 10 years. She buys and sells foodstuffs and earns an income of about 4.500mt. She uses it to pay for home expenses and also saves part of it in her bank account.
She has had a loan with BIM and has repaid it without difficulties. She first heard of Hluvuku through a friend who is also a client of this institution. This is her third loan with Hluvuku. It is for 25.000mt, which she intends to use to purchase goods (oil, peanuts, rice, flour, etc.) in order to increase the quantity of her merchandise. The previous loans were for 15.000mt and 20.000mt, for her business.
She pledges to make her repayments as scheduled. In the future she intends to build a larger grocery store in order to diversify her merchandise. For that purpose she plans to request more loans from Hluvuku.
